A Little Gathering of Friends

Congressman Raul Grijalva “represents” District 7 here in southern Arizona.  He’s also the co-chairman of the Progressive Caucus in Congress.  That’s why I put “represents” in quotes.  While I recognize that Grijalva barely won reelection in 2010 I do not believe that his progressive beliefs represent his district.

Grijalva was speaking to the Tucson chapter of the Progressive Democrats of America earlier in the week and said, “The euphoria of the tea party is short-lived.“  So, Tucson Tea Party Co-founder Trent Humphries called together a last minute little gathering to demonstrate to the honorable Mr. Grijalva that the Tea Party is alive and well.  With just a few days notice a couple hundred folks gathered at all four corners of Speedway and Tucson Blvd.

It was great to visit with old friends and see some new faces.  The mood was the same as every Tea Party Rally.  Great conversation among friends and civil discourse on how the government needs to shrink so we can survive as a republic.

Gateway Pundit has more on the story and here are more pictures from yesterday:

FOR THREE DAYS NOTICE, IT WAS A FANTASTIC TURNOUT AND PROTEST! THERE WERE SEVERAL HUNDRED PEOPLE TRYING TO TELL MEXICO’S EMPLOYEE, RALPH (RAUL) G.(THEY CALL HIM “LA MORSA” IN SPANISH = THE “WALRUS”)(you knew he reminded you of something, didn’t you!). But don’t worry, he won’t listen to anything Americans have to say – he gets paid too well and knows what will happen to him if he stops working for them…
